As a Quality Advisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing QA/QC activities for offshore 2GW substations under an EPCI contract. The position involves monitoring the HVDC contractor’s quality processes, particularly for vendor packages such as transformers, coolers, automation, and telecom. Key responsibilities include reviewing QC documentation, aligning Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), coordinating client inspections, participating in audits, and resolving quality-related issues. 

You will work closely with discipline leads, project managers, and contractors to ensure the highest quality standards for our offshore projects. Together with your team, you will help contribute to a stable and sustainable energy system.

Your profile and background

What do you bring?

  • Communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Problem-solving skills: You don’t just identify issues, you work to solve them.
  • Flexibility and independence: Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being flexible to travel frequently.
  • A technical background, preferably with a bachelor’s or master’s degree and a few years of experience in offshore projects within the Oil & Gas, Renewables, or Shipping industries.
  • Experience in reviewing documents and drafting QC plans/ITPs, working with large contractors, and understanding high-voltage equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with project processes including information management and time management is advantageous.
Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing (speaking Dutch is an advantage but not mandatory).

Your contribution to TenneT

How do you help keep the Netherlands running? As a Quality Advisor, you will monitor and manage the quality processes for offshore substations, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing vendor deliverables to ensure compliance with Employer’s Requirements.
  • Aligning Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) with the EPCI contractor and coordinating client-side inspections.
  • Tracking and addressing quality issues, non-conformities (NC), and open points, ensuring proper resolution.
  • Supporting the implementation of Employer’s Requirements, particularly for HVDC systems.
  • Organizing and participating in inspections based on identified risks.
  • Assisting with scheduling tests and inspections, and improving communication between contractors, TenneT, and suppliers.
  • Collaborating with discipline teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and contractors to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Traveling frequently to vendor construction sites to oversee inspections and quality processes (one to two weeks out of every month).

You will work within the Large Projects Offshore Netherlands (LON) team, department Project Management, which plays a key role in the energy transition by developing offshore grid connections. Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

  • A salary in scale 8: €4.151 to €8.196 per month, with additional benefits such as health insurance, internet and sport compensation.
