As an intern at TenneT, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute within our team in the Offshore Division. You will learn how we work together to ensure a reliable and sustainable electricity grid.
You will contribute to tapping into the funding ecosystem for offshore innovations and gain valuable hands-on experience. Ready to discover where your strengths lie?

Your profile and background

You:

  • Are currently enrolled in an WO program in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Innovation Management, Energy/Industrial Policy, Public Administration, or a related field and are available for an internship starting from 1.7.2026
  • You enjoy structuring complex information into clear frameworks and decision tools.
  • You can work independently, write clearly, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Are curious, eager to learn, and proactively seek contact when needed

Your contribution to TenneT

During your internship, you will contribute to a sustainable energy future. As an intern, you will support the team with:

Mapping the financial ecosystem for offshore innovation around TenneT on:

  • National level (Netherlands)
  • European level (EU funding and innovation programs)

Your work will result in a decision‑ready overview that helps TenneT quickly answer:

  • Which subsidy programs exist that we can use for offshore innovations?
  • Which innovation topics does each program fit (e.g., robotics, automation, digitalisation, remote operations, asset tech, safety, sustainability)?
  • What are the key conditions (eligibility, TRL, co‑funding, budget ranges, reporting, etc.)?
  • What does the annual calendar look like (typical call windows and lead time)?
  • What type of consortium is needed per scheme (and what role can TenneT play)?

What you will do

You will combine desk research with stakeholder input and produce practical outputs:

  • Identify and describe relevant subsidy programs (NL + EU) for offshore innovation use-cases.
  • Translate programs into a “topic fit” map (robotics, automation, tech, data/AI, safety, sustainability, etc.).
  • Capture application conditions in a comparable, structured way (criteria, documentation, timelines, success factors).
  • Create a one‑page annual calendar overview of key schemes and expected call timing.
  • Define consortium “archetypes” per scheme (who must be involved: SMEs/startups, OEMs, universities, TSOs, etc.; and TenneT’s typical role: partner, end‑user, demonstration site, work package lead, etc.).
You will become part of the Business Excellence Team in TenneT’s Offshore Division, where an open atmosphere prevails. During your internship, there may also be an opportunity to work on an assignment related to your studies.
