Your profile and background

What do you bring?

- Analytical strength: You analyse complex situations and translate them into clear and purposeful messaging.
- Strategic and operational focus: You combine a long-term vision with curiosity for day-to-day challenges.
- A master’s degree in Communication or a related field.
- Proven experience (10 years) in communication within a technical environment (e.g. energy, construction, infrastructure or similar).
- You are familiar with TenneT’s political and media landscape, and can translate this knowledge into effective communication plans.
- You have excellent writing skills and a flair for smart, thorough and fresh communication advice.
- You are an experienced advisor to the management team.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both verbal and written.
Your contribution to TenneT
How will you help energize the Netherlands? As a Communications Advisor, you will be responsible for effective internal and strategic communication across the Large Projects Offshore Netherlands (LON) unit. Your efforts support transparency, alignment, and engagement across a diverse group of approximately 400 colleagues. You are responsible for:
- Strengthening internal and change communication – Help LON navigate transformation by advising on and implementing impactful communication strategies.
- Enabling cross-functional collaboration – Support unit-wide processes and alignment through clear, engaging communication.
- Partnering with leadership – Advise the LON management team and senior leaders on positioning, engagement, and storytelling.
- Co-creating communication campaigns – Develop and execute campaigns with a hands-on mindset, using various formats and channels.
- Ensuring alignment with corporate strategy – Collaborate with the central Communications department to ensure consistency and synergy across TenneT.
You will join the Business Team, led by Maaike Thijssen, and work alongside 5 colleagues. Together, you support the LON senior management and the wider organization by managing all activities around strategy implementation, internal communication, and organisational development. You will collaborate closely with colleagues from other teams, including your German counterpart.
