- Technical ownership: You confidently take the lead on fire safety systems, acting as a subject matter expert across projects and operations.

- Team player: You collaborate naturally, supporting both technical peers and project stakeholders with practical and strategic advice.
- A BSc or MSc degree in Engineering, with at least 5 years of relevant offshore experience.
· Expertise in mechanical Auxiliary Systems (for example Fresh water system, HVA/C, Oil/Water Separation, and Hazardous drains, Cranes, Navigational aids), and knowledge of the control interfaces for these.
- Familiarity with offshore codes and regulations (e.g., DNV, PED, SODM, NEN).
- Knowledge of IT/OT architectures, e.g., Perdue Model or ISA-99.
- Experience with SAP or similar maintenance systems (Maximo, Ultimo).
- Proficient in planning, coordinating, and documenting technical maintenance.
- Experience acting as discipline lead on projects and operational readiness programs.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, verbal and written (B2 or higher).
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Proven cooperation and communications skills are essential. An offshore medical examination and a number of required trainings (GWO, etc.) must be performed with a positive outcome on a regular basis.
Your contribution to TenneT
How will you help power the Netherlands? As an Operating Engineer, you will manage preventive and corrective maintenance, operational readiness, and improvement projects related to offshore auxiliary systems of the 700MW offshore converter stations. Your work supports the safe and continuous operation of TenneT’s growing offshore asset portfolio. In addition, you are responsible for:
- Setting technical direction for operations and maintenance – Ensuring auxiliary systems operate safely and reliably across offshore platforms.
- Managing improvement projects – Leading or supporting technical projects and warranty processes with key vendors.
- Operational readiness – Defining and implementing operational requirements for newly delivered offshore assets.
- System troubleshooting and fault resolution – Acting swiftly and effectively in case of incidents to ensure system uptime.
- Contract and budget management – Overseeing service contracts, coordinating tenders and negotiations, and ensuring contract performance.
You will join the Operating Engineers team within GON, led by Willem Nugteren, and collaborate with asset managers, project leads, commissioning engineers, and contractors. The team plays a vital role in safeguarding the availability, safety, and maintainability of offshore assets. We value teamwork, proactiveness, and cross-disciplinary cooperation in a dynamic offshore setting.
