A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and operational engineering, preferably within a technical or energy-related environment.

In-depth knowledge of civil engineering contract forms (e.g. STABU, RAW, DNR STB), building permit procedures under Dutch law, and Building Information Management.

A completed degree in engineering (HBO/WO), ideally complemented with training in project management or maintenance systems.

Fluency in Dutch and English (minimum B2 level), as Dutch is the primary working language.
Your contribution to TenneT
How will you help power the Netherlands? As an Operating Engineer (Civil and Building Systems), you are responsible for enabling the execution of all preventive and corrective maintenance activities, as well as managing small-scale projects. Your work helps ensure the Netherlands continues to rely on a stable and sustainable energy supply. In addition, you are responsible for:

Technical direction for operations and maintenance – Set priorities and provide expert guidance on corrective and preventive maintenance.

Project leadership – Manage small civil and building-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with operational goals.

Operational readiness – Support commissioning, asset handovers, and ensure readiness of new offshore assets.

Service contract management – Evaluate, negotiate, and oversee service contracts with key vendors.
You will join the Mechanical Systems and Structure team, consisting of approximately 15 colleagues, including 3 fellow work planners. Together, you work on streamlining operational engineering processes for the Offshore division — a key task for a stable and sustainable energy supply. Within our team, we foster a collaborative and professional environment, where innovation and teamwork take center stage.

We offer you:
A permanent contract with a two-month probation period, based on 40 hours per week.

A salary in scale 8: €4.151 to €8.197 per month, excluding 8% holiday pay and a 6% year-end bonus, with 70% pension contribution.
