We shape the energy transition for a sustainable future. As the Manager Discipline Engineering, you will lead specialized engineering teams within the business unit Field Operations DC, that is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all offshore and onshore high voltage direct current assets of TenneT Germany. Your teams consist of highly skilled technical experts who provide advanced engineering support for assets in operation, conduct complex analyses, and drive the operationalisation as well as continuous improvement of processes, contracts and strategies. The teams are part of the Engineering and Service department that act as the central service department for the execution regions. In this leadership role, you ensure technical excellence, standardization, and robust operational performance across our asset portfolio. You empower your teams to deliver safe, reliable, and future-proof operations and maintenance activities while contributing to the successful integration of new assets into service.

Your profile and background

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven leadership experience in managing technical or engineering teams, ideally in an energy, offshore, utility, or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of complex technical systems, ideally including HVDC technology, offshore platforms, or high-voltage equipment.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to drive change, improve processes, and introduce structured ways of working.
• Fluent in English as well as German

• Lead, coach, and develop multiple technical engineering teams, fostering a high-performance culture, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Shape and implement the department strategy and priorities as part of the Engineering and Services leadership team as well as represent the unit in steering committees/management forums.
• Ensure high-quality engineering services for corrective and preventive maintenance activities on offshore and onshore and HVDC systems, including prioritization and resource allocation based on the unit strategy and needs of the execution regions.
• Take ownership for building, advancing, and mastering stakeholder interfaces as a key enabler for operational excellence and strategic alignment across internal and external partners, including O&M regions, Asset Management, project organizations, service providers, and OEM
• Drive the optimization and operationalization of processes, standards, and contractual frameworks to enhance efficiency, safety, and operational quality.
• Promote harmonization and alignment across engineering disciplines, ensuring consistency, knowledge sharing, and standardization.

This will be our challenge

The Field Operations DC unit executes field operations including maintenance, overhaul, and small projects for offshore and HVDC assets. It manages asset data, documentation, and standardized DC engineering services. The unit plans and oversees operations & maintenance, monitors assets, manages faults, and ensures technical and organizational readiness of new assets. It continuously improves maintenance and logistics strategies and provides detailed engineering expertise to support other execution units.
