At TenneT, we work every day on tomorrow’s electricity grid. Our goal? A reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy system. As a Document Manager (Handover Specialist) within the Project Management team of the 2GW program, you play a crucial role in realizing this ambition. Ready to make an impact?

Your profile and background

At TenneT, we look for professionals who help shape the future of our electricity grid. We expect you to bring the right experience, skills, and mindset to make a valuable contribution.

What do you bring?

  • Communication & organizational skills – Essential for coordinating stakeholders and managing complex documentation flows.

  • Analytical thinking & initiative – You identify improvements, solve issues proactively, and adapt processes to project needs.

  • Leadership & ownership – You take responsibility for documentation quality and guide others towards success.

In addition, you have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in documentation and information management within complex project environments, preferably infrastructure or offshore.

  • Proven experience with handover documentation in projects.

  • Strong experience with SharePoint; experience with Aconex DMS is a plus.

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

  • Solid knowledge of documentation systems and tools in technical environments.

  • A proactive, motivated mindset and openness to working in a multicultural setting.

Fluency in Dutch is not required, but considered a plus. You live in the Netherlands, within approximately 1–1.5 hours travel distance from Arnhem.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, fast in execution, and eager to grow. Development potential is highly valued, and collaboration is key — especially in supporting handovers and guiding others.

Your contribution to TenneT

How will you help power the Netherlands? As a Document Manager (Handover Specialist), you play a key role in defining, standardizing, and implementing documentation management routines to ensure full transparency, traceability, and control of information. Your role has a strong focus on handover documentation, which is essential for safe and reliable operations.

You will be part of the 2GW program, working within the Regional Cluster Eemshaven in the Project Management department. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to the design and build of large-scale offshore grid connection projects — critical for a stable and sustainable energy supply.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Document management governance – Provide guidance and direction to Document Controllers and report to the Project Manager / Project Lead.

  • Training and support – Train internal TenneT teams and external parties (contractors, vendors, partners) on IM and Document Control policies, procedures, systems, and specifications.

  • Handover standardization – Develop and implement standardized handover procedures within TenneT, in close collaboration with Grid Field Operations Netherlands (GON).

  • Information flow and quality control – Manage and expedite the flow of information between TenneT and external parties, perform quality checks, and ensure compliance with IM/Document Control requirements.

In addition, you will:

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on document transfer methods and systems (e.g. Aconex, SharePoint, ThinkProject, secure data transfer solutions).

  • Align documentation standards with the BIM Manager and RDS-PP expert.

  • Monitor document status, create progress reports, and track reviews and approvals.

  • Support audits, manage document numbering, maintain distribution matrices, and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned.

You will work closely with engineers, project leads, GON, the PMO, and external contractors. Within the growing Project Management Team, you currently work alongside 6 direct colleagues. The team culture is professional, collaborative, and quality-driven, with a strong focus on structure and continuous improvement.
