  • Electrical engineering background or equivalent (BSc. degree or higher).
  • 5 years+ experience with design, installation, testing and commissioning of low voltage systems
  • You are meticulous in your reviews, while not losing the bigger picture. 
  • You have experience with offshore oil & gas or offshore wind platforms. 
  • You have knowledge of the relevant norms and standards. 
  • You have excellent communication and cooperation skills.
  • You have a high degree of independence, initiative and assertiveness; no 'nine to five-mentality’.
  • Occupational medical suitability for offshore assignments according to the AWMF standard
  • You are willing to travel on occasionally abroad to the location of the designer in the United Emirates (Sharjah) or to the manufacturing locations of the low voltage equipment and optionally later to the fabrication yard(s) located in South East Asia or elsewhere. 
  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Speaking Dutch is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Your contribution to TenneT

The business unit Large Projects Offshore Netherlands (LON) connects, via innovative HVDC (high voltage direct current) platforms and converter stations, windfarms at the Northsea to the grid on the mainland. An enormous amount of renewable energy has to be connected within the next 10 years. Not only connections to the grid near the coast, but even deeper inland grid connection systems will be planned.

Your contribution to TenneT
You will support our 2GW HVDC grid expansion program with your technical expertise. In different regions in the Netherlands multiple 2GW grid connection systems will be build, together with our consortia.

Your main tasks and responsibilities are:
Review all design deliverables from the Stations contractor for your discipline. 
Check compliance of the design with TenneT’s requirements in accordance with the Systems Engineering methodology.
Together with the Sub Projectlead LV Electrical, manage the EPCI contractor towards a successful completion of the design and execution.
Witness testing of your packages at the vendor’s premisses. 
Optionally – be involved in the commissioning and testing activities on the construction site. 
Align with internal stakeholders on design topics (e.g. Asset Management, Grid Field Operations, HSE department) for your scope.
Support a successful implementation of Safety by Design. 
Support a successful implementation of systems engineering.
Ensure the 2GW standard design is adhered to and implemented correctly.
Align with experts and teams within Offshore NL/GER and various other departments within TenneT and take into account lessons learned from other large projects.

With your extensive technical knowledge and experience, you make an active contribution to a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues and external contractors.

The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

  • Salary for this position is in grade 8 (between € 4.151 - € 8.197) or grade 9 (between € 4.675,- and € 9.196,- gross per month) based on experience and a fulltime position
  • The weekly working time is 40 hours
  • Type of contract is indefinite
