Asset Specialist - Offshore Telecom Systems
Your profile and background
- You have at least 10 years of relevant work experience at HBO+/TU level in the field of Telecom equipment
- You have experience around
- (VHF, PAGA (Public Announcement General Alarm,) AIS, Weather monitoring, Radar systems, DMR (digital mobile Radio), Ethernet, MPLS-IP, Optical transport network technology)
- ideally Physical Protection Systems (e.g. CCTV, Door Access Control)
- General understanding how to apply such systems on IP/Telecommuncation systems.
- Experience in High Voltage systems, utilities, energy or comparable You are knowledgeable about permitting, licensing and insurance processes You are able to evaluate frameworks against building blocks for technical/organizational/financial and security impact;
- You are analytically strong and are able to unambiguously grasp new concepts and ideas textually, and drive those;
- Knows how to bring concepts/solutions to the TenneT across the stage, even where there are conflicting interests
- Innovative thinking and acting come naturally to you;
- You have an excellent language skills in Dutch (C2) and English language (Dutch)

Your contribution to TenneT
As an Asset Specialist Offshore Telecom Systems, you will be responsible for drafting, maintaining and improving the policy on how TenneT's high-voltage assets are supplied with Telecom Systems and services, with regular tenders. This applies to our Platform And Land-stations and can extend to onshore Assets. The Typical systems referred to are the VHF, Wave Radar, Internal Telephony, Public Announcement General Alarm, AIS, Weather and DMR and interfaces with (e.g. fire detection). Aligning with all stakeholders to ensure legal and contractual obligations are met. You will work together with diverse team in the design and specification of services and infrastructure for those systems. You will be part of a National Team (NL), working closely with German counterparts within Asset Management where we jointly strive for a harmonized direction where possible; with a very diverse background and high level of knowledge. The role is characterized by the Asset Management perspective, ensuring projects deliver the intended quality and meet the operational parameters.
To give substance to this, you recognize yourself in the following:
- You draw up technical requirements and specifications, audit execution and vendors and develop and improve processes in this context;
- You develop the technical policy by drafting/developing technical specifications;
- You are in charge of the application of relevant technical specifications within and outside the organization;
- You draw up the technical procurement specifications for quotation requests, assess quotations for correctness and price and advise the Supply Chain Management unit from a technical point of view;
- You are familiar and can apply constrains from legal and, insurance and permitting perspective relevant for offshore/maritime operations By means of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), ensure the needed quality and functionality is provided in accordance to your specifications;
- You check technical (basic) designs from a technical point of view;
- You advise colleagues in the (Asset Management) chain during the execution of projects in the technical field, identify deviations, intervene if necessary and propose solutions.
