Your profile and background

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Engineering Manager HVDC who thrives in a dynamic and innovative environment. You’ll play a key role in managing complex HVDC projects, working closely with both internal teams and external contractors.

  • Team Collaboration: On Mondays and Tuesdays, you will work alongside your TenneT team members in our Arnhem office. On other days, you’ll have the flexibility to work from home or the office, as suits your schedule.

  • Language Proficiency: You’re fluent in English, both spoken and written, and Dutch language skills are a plus.

Travel Opportunities:

You are open to traveling internationally, approximately 4 to 5 days every two months, to our contractor’s engineering offices in Sweden and the UAE, and the production site in Malaysia. International travel will not exceed 1 week per month.

Your contribution to TenneT

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in the fast-evolving world of HVDC projects? We are looking for a driven and collaborative Engineering Manager HVDC to join our Petrofac/Hitachi (PHE) portfolio team, which manages several platform and HVDC projects.

In this position, you will work closely with the Project Lead HVDC, overseeing and coordinating technical processes to ensure smooth project operations both within our team and with external contractors. You’ll also play a key role in strategic decisions and process improvements.

What will you do?

  • Support and represent: Assist the Project Lead HVDC in operational tasks and step in as their representative in their absence.
  • Technical coordination: Manage and optimize all technical processes, including queries, documentation, and contractor coordination.
  • Progress tracking: Monitor risks, schedules, and technical challenges, and take action where necessary.
  • Process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance our engineering workflows.
  • Milestones and payments: Ensure the technical substantiation needed for releasing payment milestones and completing project phases.
  • Collaborate in workshops: Coordinate and participate in project preparation workshops and contribute to technical reviews.
  • Work with experts: Collaborate closely with a team of HVDC discipline leads and experts from the Netherlands and Germany, applying lessons learned from large-scale projects.

This will be our challenge

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

  • The weekly working time 40 hours

  • Type of contract is indefinite with a probation time of 2 months

  • Salary in scale 9 according to TenneT CAO 2025 (EUR 4.675 - EUR 9.196) or in starting scale 8 (EUR 4.151 - EUR 8.196).This depends on experience and education with the intention to be classified in scale 9 after 1 year.
