TenneT is growing rapidly to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition and are looking for an experienced Strategic Planner to help deliver our offshore grid connection systems. Within the 2GW Program, you will contribute to three HVDC Offshore Converter Platforms built in Singapore and Batam, to be placed in the North Sea by 2028.

 

Your profile and background

You are a communicative and goal-oriented professional with a strong sense of ownership and a hands-on mentality. 

You bring:
  • A completed degree in economics or engineering, or a comparable qualification.
  • At least 7 years of experience in offshore, infrastructure, or utility projects.
  • Strong knowledge (5+ years) of Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Experience in scheduling large, complex projects.

You are:
  • Willing to live in Singapore for 2 to 5 years. 
  • High level of social competence and communication skills, persuasive, and a true bridge-builder.
  • Able to prioritize and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a structured, efficient, and independent way of working.
  • Hands-on and goal-oriented, with a willingness to learn.
  • Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
  • Experienced with Power BI (nice to have).


Your contribution to TenneT

As Strategic Planner, you will be responsible for planning and monitoring complex offshore projects. You will collaborate closely with internal project teams and external stakeholders, including the contractor in Singapore and Batam. You will be based in Singapore for 2 to 5 years.

You will:
Lead and inspire a diverse planning team, including site planners in Singapore and Batam.
Drive continuous improvement in time management maturity across the project and organization.
Develop a portfolio-based scheduling strategy in close cooperation with internal teams.
Act as the planning expert for all planning-related questions and requests.
Monitor progress, analyze deviations in schedule or scope, and report findings to the workplace lead and management for timely decision-making.

Additionally:
Share knowledge and best practices within our "Community of Experts".
Ensure efficient schedule reporting and updating processes.
Support implementation and visualization of the schedule data set.

You will be part of the Project Management team within the portfolio, consisting of around 14 colleagues with diverse backgrounds. The wider project team includes approximately 60 professionals. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and maintain a strong relationship with the contractor. The working atmosphere is open, collaborative, and supportive—with plenty of room to grow, learn, and make your mark.

This will be our challenge

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

In this role, you will start in Arnhem and then work for a period of 2 to 5 years at the shipyard in Singapore. If you already reside in Singapore (or hold PR status), you will begin with a few months in the Netherlands before returning to Singapore.

We offer you, while working under Dutch contract:
A permanent contract with a two-month probation period, based on 40 hours per week.
A salary in scale 8: €4.141,- to €8.197,- per month. An expat policy while on assignment.
43 vacation days per year.
A solid pension via ABP: TenneT pays 70% of your premium.
Additional benefits such as health insurance, internet, and sports compensation, while in the Netherlands.
All mentioned employment conditions apply to a full-time position unless otherwise stated.
