TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition and we are looking for an Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE) Officer for our headquarters in Arnhem who can help to realize our ambitions.


Your profile and background

Leadership: Offer in-depth subject matter expertise to address challenges, formulate, and implement IDE related activities. Collaborate with leaders on organization-wide inclusion initiatives and the development of IDE related goals for individual business units. Align business needs with IDE opportunities and ensure legal IDE (reporting) requirements are adhered to.

Program management: Manage project resources and activities across business units. Coordinate program initiatives and deliver interventions.

Legal compliancy: Advises Executive Board and People Director on measures when legal and national codes of conducts requirements and/or TenneT’s corporate IDE commitments are at risk or not being met.

Embed IDE: Following an evidence-based approach, develop and implement specific interventions, based on the strategic IDE roadmap, prioritization and planning. Lead benchmarking analysis and research on best practices to ensure continuous improvements on IDE. Build network and coordinate IDE ambassadors in the organisation. Oversee the strategic alignment with leaders, execution units, our people and other business units. Be an authority to call out non-compliance processes, being the focal point for the Compliance & Integrity team.

Learning & Development: Ensure organisational learning goals on inclusive culture are embedded in all relevant learning interventions in TenneT Academy. Coordinate workshops and training sessions. Work closely with the Learning and Development Team to develop learning programs and improve existing leadership programs to enhance IDE understanding related capabilities through upskilling.

Data and Reporting: Ensures timely and correct reporting to comply with international legal requirements and applicable codes of conduct (European, Dutch and German). In collaboration with our data team, be responsible for robust data analysis, KPIs setting and monitoring, and IDE reporting to comply with legal requirements and set the IDE agenda based on data analysis.

Events and Communications: Further develop a company-wide inclusive communications strategy, including events, quarterly newsletters, leadership blogs, etc. Take responsibility for large company-wide events, celebrations, and conversations. Collaborate closely with our Communications unit on inclusive content and language. Partner cross-functionally to implement communications measures related to IDE.

Operations: Be responsible for IDE deliverables with support from the People unit and colleagues embedded in TenneT’s business units.

You are:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and implementing IDE programs in multinational companies
  • Managing ambiguity and complex environments and experience as a sparring partner for senior stakeholders (including the executive board) and cross-functional partners across levels and business units
  • Ability to influence and align collaborators to define clear goals and track success
  • business strategies into practical solutions that strengthen core values
  • Background in creating and reporting on KPIs
  • Hands-on contributor
  • Strong organizational and program management skills can work independently to plan and prioritize workload in line with business needs
  • English and Dutch fluent language skills necessary, with good German language skills desirable.


Your contribution to TenneT

You will lead and support TenneT in becoming a leader in inclusion, diversity and equity (IDE) in the energy sector. As part of the People unit, you will be responsible for driving the IDE agenda in collaboration with our business units. In the role of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE) Officer, you will be implementing our strategic roadmap together with colleagues from the People team and from our business units as well as integrating inclusion principles through the People unit annual planning and the HR functions in individual business unit plans. Additionally, you will be accountable for coordinating communications and other engagement efforts across the organization in collaboration with the communications unit. Leveraging your extensive expertise in this field, you will collaborate extensively across the organization to instill IDE principles into business practices and engage with internal partners to foster an inclusive environment within TenneT. While this is a corporate initiative, you will focus on TenneT Netherlands, however you will be working closely with the IDE Officer based in Germany. This role requires limited travel mostly in the Netherlands.

Who You Are:

  • Related topics, you have experience working with underrepresented and structurally excluded communities
  • You possess an international perspective and appreciation of diverse views, cultural nuances, and legislative impact on multiple IDE related issues, with a willingness to keep learning
  • Exercise good judgment, making autonomous decisions when necessary and seeking support when needed
  • Communicate effectively, being a good listener who can give/take clear direction verbally, with strong writing and oral skills
  • Work independently and eagerly collaborate and support others
