Your contribution to TenneT

How do you keep the Netherlands powered?
As a Cost Engineer, you are responsible for preparing well-founded cost estimates and advising on costs and risks within large-scale offshore projects, so that the Netherlands can continue to rely on reliable, affordable and sustainable energy. What will be your tasks:
  • Prepare multidisciplinary cost estimates for large-scale (>€1 billion) offshore projects, so that projects can be properly substantiated during preparation and execution.
  • Align with project teams, technical experts and stakeholders to gather and validate input, ensuring cost estimates are accurate and consistent.
  • Advise projects on cost risks, claims, variations and affordability opportunities, so that projects remain predictable and controllable.
  • Safeguard the quality, substantiation and timeliness of cost estimates, ensuring reliable information is available for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors and internal stakeholders and contribute to alignment, so that expectations are clear and collaboration runs effectively.
  • Support projects during the execution phase with additional analyses and insights, improving project progress and quality.
As a Cost Engineer, you are involved in projects up to the execution phase and provide support during execution on topics such as additional call-offs, claims and variations. You play an important role in making cost information available as steering information for project and portfolio decision-making. You understand how decisions impact timelines, execution and compliance, and you act as a sparring partner for project teams within the field of cost engineering. You will join the Portfolio Initiation & Planning team consisting of around 12 people, within the division Offshore Netherlands.
