Your profile and background
- Academic working and thinking level with a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Hands-on offshore installation experience is a strong advantage.
- Experience with Orcaflex or similar FEM analysis software is a plus.

Your contribution to TenneT
How will you help power the Netherlands? TenneT is growing rapidly to realize its strategic ambitions and plays a leading role in the energy transition. We are delivering multiple 2GW High Voltage DC (HVDC) Grid Connection Systems that will bring offshore wind power from the North Sea into the Dutch electricity grid up to 2031.
As a Technical Specialist Cable Offshore Installation, you contribute directly to these groundbreaking offshore projects. You support project teams with expert knowledge throughout all phases of the project. In addition, you are responsible for:
- Technical support during all project phases – Provide specialist expertise during initiation, tendering, execution, and maintenance for all offshore cable installation and cable protection matters.
- Industry knowledge & innovation – Stay up to date with offshore industry developments and represent TenneT in joint research initiatives (e.g., Joint Industry Projects).
- Building strong networks – Maintain internal and external professional networks to stimulate collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
- Lessons learned & continuous improvement – Actively gather insights from past projects to improve standards and processes across the 2GW program.
- Standards & requirements – Write, update, and maintain offshore cable installation and protection requirements together with specialists across the organisation.
You will join the Cable Engineering team, part of the Large Projects Offshore Netherlands unit, working with a group of highly skilled specialists dedicated to safe, innovative, and future-proof offshore grid development. Collaboration, expertise, and continuous improvement define our team culture.

This will be our challenge
The Offshore division manages the entire lifecycle of all TenneT offshore installations, from development and realisation to maintenance and handover to the Operate division. A crucial task is the construction of 2 GW offshore ‘sockets’, which collect and transport generated wind energy to the mainland.

We offer you:
- A undetemined contract or year contract with the possibility of extension based on 40 hours per week
- A salary in scale 9: € 4675 to € 9196 per month with 8% holiday allowance and 6% year-end bonus. Job grading is based on education, experience, knowledge and internal equity
- A solid pension via ABP: we pay 70% of your premium.
- 43 vacation days per year.
