You are eager to deepen your knowledge in HVDC technology and grow toward independent technical ownership within the project.
What You Bring
- 2–10 years of relevant experience in HVDC, power systems, or grid integration.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Understanding of VSC technology, HVDC station design, insulation coordination, control strategies, power system modelling, and performance studies.
- Experience with PSCAD (primary); experience with PSS/E, DigSILENT, or RTDS is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with grid‑forming concepts, multi‑terminal HVDC, or OWF integration is appreciated.
Soft Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Dutch is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Proactive attitude with strong interpersonal skills, independence, and assertiveness.
Your contribution to TenneT
In this position, you support the HVDC Station Design, Controls & Grid Integration team with your technical expertise in HVDC system design, modelling, and grid integration. You act as a technical counterpart for suppliers, validate simulation outcomes, and contribute to system performance assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support two Sub‑Project Leads in day‑to‑day technical project activities.
- Review supplier documentation related to HVDC design, controls, protection, and grid integration.
- Reconfirm critical calculations, models, and simulation results.
- Contribute to modelling and validation of HVDC and offshore wind farm (OWF) systems in PSCAD, PSS/E, DigSILENT, or RTDS.
- Execute studies on HVDC system performance, converter dynamics, and grid‑forming behaviour.
- Support development and maintenance of simulation and control models for HVDC and OWF integration.

Market-conform salary in scale 8: €4276 to €8443 per month, excluding 8% holiday pay and a 6% year-end bonus, with 70% pension contribution.
