The Technical Specialist (TS) – Process, Piping & Instrumentation is to support Sub Project Lead’’s in charge of their scope to supervise engineering and construction by the Stations (HVDC) contractor of all offshore platform systems in the process discipline in accordance with all relevant TenneT requirements and contractual obligations. The Technical Specialist (TS) – Process, Piping & Instrumentation will work together with a team of Sub Project Leads, other technical specialists and a site team throughout all phases of the project from the design phase up to the handover of the offshore substation to the operations department. You will, among others, work closely and be supported by professional process, electrical and automations specialists. The scope includes multiple platforms constructed by the same EPCI contractor. Process systems on the 2GW platforms include for instance fresh water system, hydrant system, drain system, diesel fuel system. Which will be you main focus. But you will also be involved in other platform systems for your scope of work and expertise; fire protection and safety systems, cooling systems and HVAC systems. Making it a very versatile and overarching task. You will be working closely together with the Sub Project Lead SPL Auxiliary Systems – Process and other team members.
- Document review and verification cycles for your disciplines. (e.g. checking contractor and vendor documents for compliance to TenneT requirements, standards, best engineering practices and specifications)
- Follow up on the manufacturing and testing of packages at the vendor’s premisses, including attending kick-off meetings, surveys and FAT’s as TenneT representative for your disciplines
- Work independently and report on specific tasks & queries within project scope with relation to your discipline & expertise on account and with close cooperation and alignment with Sub Project lead
- Act as knowledge board for consult and advice for your discipline and expertise for the project team
- Consult and align with relevant stakeholders (e.g. Asset Management, Grid Field Operations, authorities, classification society’s) with regard to the affected requirements and standards
- Support a successful implementation of Safety by Design
- Support a successful implementation of systems engineering
- Support the 2GW standard design is adhered to and implemented correctly
- Align with experts and teams within Offshore NL/GER and various other departments within TenneT and take into account lessons learned from other large (2GW) projects
Jouw profiel en achtergrond
- Process / Mechanical engineering background or equivalent (BSc. degree or higher)
- 10 years+ experience with design, of process systems in a maritime and/or offshore environment
- Preferably looking for system engineer for with knowledge of described systems and below expertise and affinity for instrumentation. Experience as sales engineer of a supplier or integrator covering the intended scope of systems and components can also maybe comply
- Preferably with experience and knowledge with installation, testing and commissioning for these systems as well
- Preferably you have experience in complex projects
- Preferably you have knowledge of system design, calculation, component selection, material specifications, corrosion protection, coating, seals & gaskets, documentation, norms, standards. Also for piping materials, fittings, insulation, routing, supporting and installation standards. And highly preferably with also affinity and knowledge about wide scope of instrumentation applied in these systems
- Preferably experience with FAT’s and survey’s
- You have good communication, cooperation skills and are able to adequately interact both the contractor team as the internal team
- You show initiative, you are persuasive, sensitive, aware of your stakeholders and capable of balanced judgment
- You are dynamic, enthusiastic, intrinsically motivated, you take your responsibility and ownership (committed); no 'nine to five-mentality’
- You are willing to travel frequently abroad (up to 50% of the time) to the location of the designer in the United Emirates – Sharjah (or other location), vendor locations and later to the fabrication yard located in South East Asia
- You will work on Mondays and Tuesdays together with the rest of the team from the TenneT office in Arnhem and on the other days flexible from home or from the office
- You are an expert in your disciplines
- You have strong problem solving skills
- You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
- Speaking Dutch is an advantage, but not mandatory
