Your profile and background

At TenneT, we are looking for professionals who are eager to shape the future of the electricity grid. We value individuals who bring the right mix of experience and expertise to strengthen our team and advance our mission.

Your profile:
  • You have a strong background in power system stability, ideally with hands-on experience in modeling electrical transmission networks.
  • You are skilled in using simulation tools such as PowerFactory, PSSE, Python, and MATLAB to carry out power flow and RMS-type analyses.
  • You hold an academic degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification, and are comfortable operating at a university-level standard of thinking and working.
  • You are capable of producing high-quality reports and represent TenneT’s interests in both national and international working groups and research programs.
  • You work independently, show initiative, and thrive in a collaborative team environment. You also possess excellent communication skills and a strong command of English.
  • You foster open and constructive communication, engage proactively with colleagues, and are able to persuade others through clear, well-reasoned arguments.

Your contribution to TenneT

You are responsible for strengthening and modernizing the electricity grid to ensure the Netherlands continues to have reliable and sustainable energy. You join the System Integrity team, consisting of over 20 colleagues who work together to maintain a stable power system, which is essential for a stable and sustainable energy supply. Our team fosters an open and multicultural work environment where innovation and collaboration are central.

In this role, you develop and maintain dynamic grid models, tools, and analysis methods. You perform quantitative analyses of TenneT’s transmission system in the context of the European energy transition. Your work focuses on predicting future system behavior, especially regarding decreasing inertia and system strength, and the integration of power electronics-interfaced generation, power-to-gas, power-to-heat, batteries, and other storage systems.

Additionally, you are responsible for:
  • Ensuring that grid users contribute to a stable power system by performing verification activities to ensure compliance with connection codes.
  •  Identifying mitigation measures to enhance stability based on both internal and external analyses.
  • Supporting the development of policies related to power system stability.
