In this role you are responsible for the quality assurance during the installation of electrical systems, including high voltage and low voltage electrical systems in the topside construction on the fabrication yard in Batam with all documentation delivered complete and in good quality. 
You will be reporting to the Lead Electrical & Automation hierarchically, and reporting to Lead Yard Management and Construction Manager functionally, who is coordinating you in day-to-day business.

For this position, you will work and live abroad (3-5 years) in the yard location Batam, Indonesia.

Your profile and background

  • You hold an academic degree in electrical engineering or comparable and are an experienced electrical engineer, complemented by strong leadership skills and deep technical expertise
  • You bring hands-on experience in electrical construction, inspection processes, and commissioning of offshore platforms, such as offshore oil & gas platforms or offshore HVDC platforms, at shipyards
  • You are familiar with the rules and regulations applicable to the construction of offshore structures in the German North Sea, including BSH, DNV, and WSV, as well as relevant EN-ISO standards and German laws and ordinances related to responsible technical systems
  • You are fluent in English, and additional languages (e.g., German or Bahasa Indonesia) are considered an advantage
You are willing to work and live abroad at a yard location (Batam, Indonesia) for an extended period (3-5 years project duration) and are open to travel to other fabrication facilities, such as panel fabrication yards in Asia

Your contribution to TenneT

  • You are responsible for issue management, which includes monitoring findings, developing and tracking mitigation measures, and ensuring timely follow-up on rectification actions
  • You coordinate the site Electrical Inspectors to attend and witness inspections as well as mechanical completion activities
  • You collaborate closely with Sub-Project Leads and the certifying authority to secure acceptance of the execution and completion of electrical systems
  • You work in close cooperation with the HVDC/platform project team, including the Project Lead Offshore Platform, Project Lead HVDC, Sub-Project Leads for Electrical Auxiliary Systems and Electrical Automation/SCADA, Technical Specialists, Operations & Maintenance Offshore personnel, and the HSE Manager
  • You ensure that project execution complies with the site manual, HSE goals, delivery schedules, contract specifications and conditions, relevant procedures and methods, as well as quality assurance policies and procedures

This will be our challenge

The Grid Field Operations Offshore & HVDC (GOG) unit is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of our offshore facilities (platforms and converter stations) and other HVDC transmission facilities (offshore-onshore connection lines). We also carry out base load projects (cat. 1-3) for all offshore facilities.

The Grid Field Operations 2GW division is currently being established in order to contribute operational experience during the construction phase of the facilities and to optimally prepare for the operational phase.
