Your profile and background
- An in-depth understanding of existing TSO systems and technologies and -operations and a keen eye for new cutting-edge technology, whereby you like to explore and develop new ways of working between these two;
- Positive attitude towards working in an international environment with variety of experiences, connection is key for you to succeed
- A completed academic degree in in electrical/power system engineering
- Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
Your contribution to TenneT
You will be responsible for strengthening and modernizing the electricity system, ensuring the Netherlands continues to have access to reliable and sustainable energy. You will join the team of System Operations and Market development. Together with your colleagues, you’ll tackle the existing and future operational challenges by identifying the needs and solutions, taking initiative for necessary developments. You promote innovation and propose improvements for system operations in close collaboration with relevant internal and external as well as national and international stakeholders. These international stakeholders include other Transmission System Operators(TSOs), suppliers, and project developers.

You’ll build propositions and coalitions, developing ideas into implementation. This requires creativity and the drive to mobilize key stakeholders step by step, despite current and future uncertainties. You will also be responsible for:
- Adaptations to existing operational processes and develop future operational concepts that help to ensure the reliability and stability of the electricity system. This will involve analyzing future energy scenarios and their impact on the grid, exploring new technological opportunities and designing solutions that fit the business,
- Translating existing and future system operations needs into technical/functional requirements for tool development and solution architecture as part of our Control Room of the Future Programme,
- Contributing to developments on an international (European ) level joining forces via dedicated cooperations with other TSOs,
- Participate in national and international working groups to bring these important aspects of future system operation forward and to propose relevant and innovative solutions in collaboration with relevant technical partners
- Proposing adaptations to existing models and develop future ones of assets categorized as emerging technologies that help to ensure the reliability and stability of the power system.
- Accompanying, supervising and contributing to research studies that will help to turn new innovative ideas and technologies into viable proof-of-concepts models as well as processes and regulation
- Participate and contribute to defining the best operational methodologies to ensure maximum flexibility needed in real time operation to efficiently utilize both existing and emerging grid technologies looking at the different scenarios we will experience in the future (Scenario development ). Integration of the offshore system into the existing onshore grid will require innovative control and protection schemes as well as evolution of operational policies/processes and ancillary services.

- A permanent contract with a two-month probation period, based on 40 hours per week
- Salary in scale 18 – up to €11.156 per month (based on 40 hours), including annual bonuses and a 70% pension contribution.
- 30 vacation days per year.
