TenneT is growing rapidly to realize its strategic ambitions and plays a leading role in the energy transition. Within the business unit Large Projects Offshore Netherlands (LON), we connect offshore wind farms in the North Sea to the mainland grid via innovative HVDC platforms and converter stations. Over the next 10 years, a massive amount of renewable energy needs to be integrated, both near the coast and further inland.

As a BIM Advisor, you will contribute your expertise to the realization of the 2GW HVDC grid expansion program in the Netherlands.

Your profile and background

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking BIM professional who combines technical expertise with strong communication and coordination skills. You are passionate about digitalisation, data-driven collaboration, and working across disciplines to enable smarter, safer, and more efficient project delivery.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a comparable field.

  • 5–10 years of experience with BIM methods, tools, and processes in large infrastructure projects.

  • Proven experience in implementing BIM in multidisciplinary project environments.

  • Strong understanding of data management, interoperability, and digital workflows.

  • Experience working in complex infrastructure or offshore energy projects.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive, hands-on mindset.

  • Awareness of emerging digital and BIM trends.

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken); Dutch and/or German are preferred.

Your contribution to TenneT

TenneT is challenged with a multitude of complex tasks on a daily basis and is growing fast to realise its strategic ambitions. Network expansion, security of supply, and the efficient operation and maintenance of our assets all require high-quality planning and execution.

At the same time, TenneT is undergoing a rapid digital transformation that is fundamentally changing the way we deliver projects. Building Information Management (BIM) is a key enabler in this transition. We see BIM as a data-driven approach that connects systems, TenneT employees, and external partners through a shared digital ecosystem.

Our organisational vision for BIM is to establish a standard-based, open ecosystem that places data, standardisation, and interoperability at the core of asset lifecycle management—ensuring transparency and security of supply. While our vision is clear and our first steps are underway, we are still in transition. We must continue to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and with high-quality data for future use.

As BIM Advisor, you will act as the central point of contact for all BIM-related topics within the Maasvlakte Cluster. You will guide project teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders in implementing BIM processes and digital standards to ensure consistent, high-quality information throughout all project phases. Your key tasks include:

  • Implementing a digital way of working, best practices, and templates within project execution.

  • Providing BIM support and training to project teams.

  • Acting as the main contact for contractors regarding BIM.

  • Contributing to the implementation of BIM across the entire asset lifecycle.

  • Discussing and approving the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for the execution phase.

  • Initiating and participating in workshops to implement the EIR, Project Information Protocol, and other Information Management requirements.

  • Guiding the development of BIM models from conception to handover to Asset Management.

  • Monitoring documentation, alphanumerical data, and geometric information deliverables.

  • Adapting and maintaining rule sets to verify models at the end of each execution phase.

  • Reviewing models and verification reports to ensure compliance with project standards.

  • Aligning with and supporting internal stakeholders across disciplines.

  • Actively contributing to the BIM transformation and supporting internal stakeholders in adopting new ways of working.

  • Coordinating multiple stakeholders in a proactive and structured manner.

  • Translating complex structures into clear, practical workflows and documentation.

  • Ensuring effective self-organisation and communication within an international environment
