Educational background – BSc in Electrical Engineering, preferably MSc in Electrical Power Engineering.

Technical expertise – Strong understanding of power systems and power electronics, ideally HVDC systems and Multi-Terminal DC applications.

Professional experience – 2–5 years of relevant experience, ideally with HVDC systems.

Analytical skills – Experience with network calculation tools (ideally PSCAD and real-time simulation environments) and ability to solve complex technical problems.

Personal skills – Structured approach to work, strong quality awareness, eagerness to learn, and adaptability within large organizations.

Language skills – Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Mobility – Willingness to travel (UK, Sweden) and valid driver’s license (Class B).
Your contribution to TenneT
How will you help power the Netherlands? As a Technical Specialist MTDC Design, you are responsible for managing and reviewing the technical details of the Multi-Terminal DC (MTDC) system within the LionLink project, a first-of-its-kind cross-border development between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
In addition, you are responsible for:

Technical review – Act as the main reviewer of contractor deliverables in HVDC system design and controls during the MTDC FEED and subsequent main MTDC contract.

Testing & validation – Witness factory acceptance tests of the contractor for functional and dynamic performance of the HVDC control & protection system and the Master Controller.

Requirement development – Collaborate with TenneT stakeholders (asset management, energy system planning, system operations) to develop detailed technical requirements for LionLink.

Grid compliance – Define and monitor the grid compliance trajectory for LionLink in alignment with all relevant parties.

We offer you:
- A undetemined contract or year contract with the possibility of extension based on 40 hours per week
- A salary in scale 9: € 4675 to € 9196 per month with 8% holiday allowance and 6% year-end bonus. Job grading is based on education, experience, knowledge and internal equity
- A solid pension via ABP: we pay 70% of your premium.
- 43 vacation days per year.
