Your profile and background
At TenneT we are looking for professionals that contribute to our future electricity transmission system. We expect you to have the right experience and skills to make a valuable contribution to our team and our mission.
What do you offer?
- A finished Master or PhD education in Electrical Engineering or comparable;
- Deep knowledge of electromagnetic transients and power quality and their application in power systems;
- Good understanding of power system planning;
- Experience with PSCAD and DIgSILENT Power Factory is a must;
- Experience with EMTP-ATP or EMTP-RV is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the power systems sector.
- This position requires excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
Your contribution to TenneT
As Power System Electromagnetic Transients Strategist you contribute to strengthening and renewing the Dutch electricity transmission system, for the Netherlands to continue to count on reliable and renewable energy.
You will work in the team Power Quality, EMC and EMT team within the System Integrity department, consisting of 12 colleagues. Together you work on ensuring that electromagnetic phenomena in the power system stay under control, an essential task for a stable and renewable energy system. Within our team there is an open and collaborative atmosphere, where innovation and cooperation are key.
- You are responsible for conducting and supervising electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies to evaluate the system technical performance due to grid changes, e.g., due to the introduction of long cable connections or due to the transition from meshed to radial operation in our high voltage networks and identify effective mitigation options;
- You support power quality studies relevant to the evaluation of amplification of background harmonic voltages, harmonic propagation and rapid voltage changes;
- Further you are responsible for reviewing EMT studies as part of the compliance verification process and for developing and maintaining internal policies relevant to electromagnetic transients;
- You act as the contact point between System Integrity and Asset Technology in relevant topics.
