Your profile and background

We are looking for an experienced professional with a solid understanding of TenneT’s organization and processes. Familiarity with SON is a strong advantage. Fluency in both Dutch and English is essential.
In this role, you will lead complex projects within the energy sector, drawing on your proven track record in project management. Your ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment will be key, as you take initiative, maintain oversight, and ensure alignment across stakeholders. With your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll build trusted relationships both internally and externally.


As our Project Lead, you will:

  • Apply your expertise to manage and deliver complex, cross-functional projects.

  • Proactively coordinate project activities, ensuring progress and alignment.

Your contribution to TenneT

As Project Lead, you are responsible for strengthening and modernizing the electricity grid, so the Netherlands can continue to rely on reliable and sustainable energy.
You will be part of the Quality Management & Processes team, consisting of 16 colleagues. Together, you will work on project Inertia, an essential task for a stable and sustainable energy supply. Our team thrives in a learning and open culture, where innovation and collaboration are central.


Project Lead Inertia: Help shape a stable and future-proof energy system
Are you ready to play a key role in the energy transition? We are looking for a passionate Project Lead for the Inertia Project – a critical initiative that contributes to frequency stability and the resilience of our electricity grid.
As the energy system shifts from traditional large rotating generators to renewable energy sources, the level of inertia in the grid is changing. This calls for innovative solutions and a cross-functional approach.


What will you do?

  • Lead the Inertia Project from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts from System Operations, Customer & Markets, and Energy System Planning.
  • Foster cross-unit collaboration and drive effective problem-solving in a complex and evolving environment.
  • Contribute to the development of new methods and technologies that strengthen the robustness and future readiness of the electricity system.

What we offer

  • A permanent contract for 40 hours per week with a two-month probation period.
  • A salary in scale 8: €4.151 €8.19 per month (based on 40h), plus 8% holiday allowance, 6% year-end bonus, and 70% pension contribution.
  • 43 vacation days per year (full-time basis).
