- Technical expertise: At least 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, preferably in Azure, with a portfolio of relevant projects.
- AI knowledge: Experience with Microsoft Azure AI and GenAI services, Databricks, LLMs, LLMOps, LLM guardrails, RAG, graph databases, document processing, content management, API management, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
- Collaboration and communication: A proactive, independent thinker who takes ownership and communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Languages: Fluency in Dutch and English is required; German is a strong plus.
Your contribution to TenneT
How will you help keep the Netherlands powered? As a GenAI Cloud Engineer, you are responsible for designing, building, and managing our GenAI platform and solutions. This ensures we can continue to rely on innovative and secure digital capabilities. Your responsibilities include:
- Designing and building GenAI solutions: You develop scalable, reusable, and secure AI solutions using Microsoft Azure and Databricks.
- Architecture and governance: You define the GenAI platform architecture and ensure alignment with the broader enterprise architecture.
- Cross-functional collaboration: You work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to gather requirements and prototype solutions.
- Knowledge sharing: You build a body of knowledge and actively transfer skills to your team and the wider organization.
- Innovation and development: You stay up to date with the latest trends in Azure Cloud and Databricks related to GenAI.
You will be part of the GenAI Center of Excellence, within the Digital & Data department of TenneT’s Business Transformation Office. The team is based in Arnhem (NL) and Bayreuth (DE), currently consists of around 6 FTE, and is growing. We work in a hybrid setup, typically 2–3 days per week in the office. Occasional travel to Germany (a few days every few months) is part of the role.

- A permanent contract for 40 hours per week with a two-month probation period
- A salary in scale 8: €4.151 to €8.197 per month (based on 40 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance, 6% year-end bonus, and 70% pension contribution
- 43 vacation days per year (based on full-time employment)
