The electrical power system is in the middle of a transition that is significantly increasing the complexity of system operations. This change is driven by political, regulatory, environmental and technological background. Therefore System Operations needs to be prepared for the challenges ahead by identifying future needs for innovations, developing ingenious concepts and knowledge to ensure TenneT is prepared to also operate the future power system with the same level of reliability and security, as we have today!
In the department of System Operation you contribute directly to these challenges by identifying the future needs and taking initiative for necessary developments as well as contributing to the challenges of today. You promote innovation and propose improvements for system operations in close collaboration with many internal and external as well as national and international stakeholders.
- The aforementioned changes create new operational requirements. You will propose adaptations to existing operational processes and develop future operational concepts that help to ensure the reliability and stability of the power system. This will involve analysing future energy scenarios and their impact on the grid, exploring new technological opportunities and designing solutions that fit the business. You will contribute to development of these as part of our Control room of the Future Programme (CROF)
- Integration of the offshore system into the existing onshore grid will require innovative control and protection schemes as well as evolution of operational policies/processes and ancillary services. You will participate and contribute to defining the best operational methodologies to ensure maximum flexibility needed in real time operation to efficiently utilise both existing and emerging grid technologies
- You will participate in national and international working groups to bring these important aspects of future system operation forward and to propose relevant and innovative solutions in collaboration with relevant technical partners
- You will accompany, supervise and contribute to research studies that will help the CROF programme turn new innovative ideas and technologies into viable proof-of-concepts
Jouw profiel en achtergrond
- You have knowledge of processes in system operation (planning and close to real time). Multiple years of experience in working for a transmission system operator in the field of system operation, system development is highly welcomed;
- You are open minded, like to work with engaged people, have a good sense of humour and you get your energy out of complex concept developments. You bring a positive attitude towards working in an international team with different nationalities is of importance,connection is key for you to succeed;
- You have the ambition to learn and develop yourself and drive the energy transition together with your colleagues;
