TenneT is at the start of a journey to the public cloud. We are introducing new technology and will start moving applications from their current location in our datacenters to the Public Cloud (Microsoft Azure). At the same time, modern, cloud native solutions based on public cloud technologies are key to support TenneT’s ambitions and responsibilities in the energy transition. For this cloud journey we’ve engaged into a partnership with Capgemini, acting as Managed Cloud Provider (MCP) and supporting TenneT to build, design and maintain the Public Cloud. Our collaboration with MCP is designed to significantly enhance our IT infrastructure's agility and resilience, positioning us at the vanguard of technological innovation and security advancements.
TenneT is running the MCP: Go cloud Program. We established the public cloud and started onboarding application teams. In parallel, to ensure the successful ongoing support and provision of the MCP service to the TenneT organization, we have set up building a platform-organization. This team is the driving force behind the cloud journey at TenneT for the coming years, leading the charge in enhancing efficiency and agility across our operations. By harnessing the expertise of the MCP, we're looking to redefine the traditional IT delivery models, offering resources to end-users with unprecedented speed and advancing the resilience of our IT infrastructure with the latest in security and technology.

Role Description
TenneT is seeking an experienced and dynamic Cloud Platform Architect to act as technical principal for the development of our cloud platform services. This role is critical at the inception of our cloud platform journey, providing leadership and strategic direction in the development and continuous improvement of our cloud architecture.
The Cloud Platform Architect will play a pivotal role in decision-making processes concerning further development and prioritization of technical backlog items. This role is a key role in a cross functional team that includes architecture, engineers, service management and security.
Core Responsibilities
- Cloud Technical Principal: The Cloud Platform Architect will serve as the internal technical spoke persons for the enterprise architects, solution architects, and other technical stakeholders to collect requirements and determine the technical roadmap of the platform.
- Cloud Architecture Design: Architect, develop and align comprehensive cloud solutions that support TenneT's strategic goals, IT leadership, operations stakeholders, application teams and managed services providers. Translate missing platform service catalogue items into actionable backlog items. Assist the platform owner with service portfolio prioritization.
- Platform Support and Development: Drive the architectural development and continuous creation and improvement of cloud platform services, making decisions on technical improvements and backlog prioritization.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Serve as a key member of the cross functional team, working closely with the other disciplines to align platform development with migration efforts and the enablement of new cloud-based solutions.

Candidate Profile
- At least 7 years of experience in cloud architecture, with a demonstrated track record of leading complex migration projects, preferably involving Microsoft Azure.
- Requires the ability to think critically and independently, often developed through a bachelor's degree program.
- Strong expertise in cloud advisory, enterprise architecture, and (product) operating model development.
- Profound knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, architecture design, and best practices.
- Expertise in cloud services management, security, and compliance within Azure.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and automation.
- Solid understanding of IT operations, including knowledge of IT infrastructure, service management, and managed services.
- A proactive, analytical thinker and capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively in fast-paced environments, with a strong focus on quality and detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging stakeholders and conveying complex information effectively. Mastering the Dutch language is an advantage.
Key competencies for the position are; technical thought leadership (in cloud native technologies, patterns and practices), excellent communication skills, client centricity, adaptability and pro-activeness.

BTO will drive security of supply, energy transition, organizational and financial health through digital, data and analytics. BTO will secure solid foundations through seamless end-user services (UX), industry-leading cybersecurity setup and resilient data centers and cloud infrastructure. BTO will have consistent business/BTO alignment, strategic partnerships with vendors and clear standards on architecture, vendor & portfolio management and security. BTO will unlock value of data and digital by building all the necessary enablers (incl. data platform, data governance processes, capabilities) and embedding innovation initiatives into business roadmaps.

- The weekly working hours are 32-40. This position can be filled part-time (minimum of 32 hours a week).
- TenneT is mindful of employees' private circumstances, and we consider flexibility in a job and a healthy work-life balance as very important.
- Hybrid working is a requirement for this role. On Tuesday's the whole team gathers at Arnhem Rijnpoort. We encourage our colleagues to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
- The type of contract is indefinite.

Where will you work?
As the Cloud Platform Architect, you will be an integral part of TenneT's Business Technology Organization (BTO), the division responsible for all IT initiatives and operations within TenneT. Specifically, your role will be situated within the Infrastructure, Integration, and Cloud (IIC) department, a critical component of the BTO Operations unit. This unit encompasses all infrastructure and cloud capabilities, vendor management, and workplace services, ensuring that TenneT remains at the forefront of technological innovation in the energy sector.
Your position requires close collaboration with the Platform Owner of MCP Service. Together you align the objectives with the broader strategic goals of the organization and ensure a seamless integration of cloud technologies into our infrastructure landscape. In your role you are reporting to the Lead Cloud of the IIC Department.
You will be working in an ambitious team with experienced professionals who want to learn together every day and who are proudly working on a new, modern technology platform that will enable TenneT to fulfil its key role in the energy transition.
