Role Description
TenneT is seeking an experienced and dynamic Cloud Platform Architect to act as technical principal for the development of our cloud platform services. This role is critical at the inception of our cloud platform journey, providing leadership and strategic direction in the development and continuous improvement of our cloud architecture.
The Cloud Platform Architect will play a pivotal role in decision-making processes concerning further development and prioritization of technical backlog items. This role is a key role in a cross functional team that includes architecture, engineers, service management and security.
Core Responsibilities
- Cloud Technical Principal: The Cloud Platform Architect will serve as the internal technical spoke persons for the enterprise architects, solution architects, and other technical stakeholders to collect requirements and determine the technical roadmap of the platform.
- Cloud Architecture Design: Architect, develop and align comprehensive cloud solutions that support TenneT's strategic goals, IT leadership, operations stakeholders, application teams and managed services providers. Translate missing platform service catalogue items into actionable backlog items. Assist the platform owner with service portfolio prioritization.
- Platform Support and Development: Drive the architectural development and continuous creation and improvement of cloud platform services, making decisions on technical improvements and backlog prioritization.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Serve as a key member of the cross functional team, working closely with the other disciplines to align platform development with migration efforts and the enablement of new cloud-based solutions.
Jouw profiel en achtergrond
- At least 7 years of experience in cloud architecture, with a demonstrated track record of leading complex migration projects, preferably involving Microsoft Azure.
- Requires the ability to think critically and independently, often developed through a bachelor's degree program.
- Strong expertise in cloud advisory, enterprise architecture, and (product) operating model development.
- Profound knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, architecture design, and best practices.
- Expertise in cloud services management, security, and compliance within Azure.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and automation.
- Solid understanding of IT operations, including knowledge of IT infrastructure, service management, and managed services.
- A proactive, analytical thinker and capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively in fast-paced environments, with a strong focus on quality and detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging stakeholders and conveying complex information effectively. Mastering the Dutch language is an advantage.

- The weekly working hours are 32-40. This position can be filled part-time (minimum of 32 hours a week).
- TenneT is mindful of employees' private circumstances, and we consider flexibility in a job and a healthy work-life balance as very important.
- Hybrid working is a requirement for this role. On Tuesday's the whole team gathers at Arnhem Rijnpoort. We encourage our colleagues to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
- The type of contract is indefinite.
