As Sub Project Lead - Secondary Systems for our 2GW HVDC projects, your expertise will focus on ensuring the successful integration of Control & Protection and HV SCADA into the overall grid infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on timely, high-quality, and cost-effective execution.

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant global project execution experience in executing complex HVDC projects, specializing in Secondary Systems, including Control & Protection and HV SCADA.
  • A BSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • You have strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and risk management, and possess a valid driving license, GWO, and HUET certifications (or willingness to complete them) and willingness to travel globally.  
  • Fluency in English is required for this position, both written and spoken.

Your contribution to TenneT

How do you help keep the Netherlands running? As Sub Project Lead - Secondary Systems, you will oversee the integration of Control & Protection and HV SCADA systems into the grid infrastructure. You make a key contribution to deliver the HVDC systems on time. 

Additionally, you will be responsible for:
  • Executing HVDC projects with a focus on integrating Control & Protection and HV SCADA systems into the overall grid infrastructure.
  • Managing project planning, scheduling, and risk management, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
  • Ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards from design to commissioning.
  • Facilitating coordination between internal teams and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear updates on project progress, milestones, and technical challenges.
  • Identifying and addressing technical and commercial interfaces to streamline project delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, ensuring alignment with contracts and regulatory requirements.
  • Promoting a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work within the Large Projects Offshore Netherlands (LON) team, which plays a key role in the energy transition by developing offshore grid connections. Within our team, you will experience a collaborative atmosphere where innovation and teamwork are at the core of everything we do.

This will be our challenge

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.
