- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role and 10+ years of experience in large technical project environments.
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience with UAV-GC and Risk Based Contract Management is considered a strong advantage.
- Experience with High Voltage substations is a strong advantage.
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel within the Netherlands as required by the project.
- You have a valid drivers license in order to facilitate travelling to the different project locations.
Your contribution to TenneT
As Sub Project Lead Civil Engineering you are responsible for the civil engineering scope of three onshore HVDC converter stations: IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Nederwiek Alpha in the Borssele area and Nederwiek Gamma near Geertruidenberg. Each station connects 2 GW of offshore wind energy to the Dutch 380 kV grid. Your work ensures that these assets are designed and realized safely, on time, and within budget.
In addition, you are responsible for:
- Safeguarding safety, quality, planning, risks and compliance – Ensure all civil engineering activities meet TenneT standards, guidelines, and legal requirements.
- Technical leadership within the civil scope – Review calculations, drawings, and reports and act as the primary technical point of contact.
- Coordination of Civil engineering activities – internal and external.
- Stakeholder representation – Represent TenneT in engineering reviews, construction meetings and discussions with stakeholders like contractors, municipalities or other authorities.
You will join the Cluster Borssele team within Large Projects Offshore Netherlands, working closely with project management, other discipline leads, contractors and stakeholders. Together you contribute to the successful delivery of the 2 GW program, a cornerstone of TenneT’s strategy to connect offshore wind energy to the Dutch grid.
