Your profile and background

  • A master's degree in electrical engineering, economics, law or comparable, with an affinity for energy regulation.
  • You are experienced in the area of electricity regulation and ideally also familiar with other parts of the TSO and Energy business such as market operations or system planning.
  • You have the ability to combine detailed knowledge in your area of expertise with a broad overview, and the ability to adapt communication to the addressees' level of knowledge.
  • You have a self-propelled way of working, selecting the right topics to focus on, considering time management and planning of deliverables. A flexible approach to filling this position is essential.
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch.
  • You are open to use new communication technologies.
  • You find inspiration in being part of a closely collaborating international team; you are willing to travel between your place of work (Arnhem or Brussels) and other places in Europe for meetings and projects

Your contribution to TenneT

  • You become one of the trusted advisors within TenneT who liaises with other network operators, market parties and regulatory authorities and ensure that the TenneT vision is facilitated by regulation.
  • You cover for the development of network codes, guidelines and subsequential terms & conditions or methodologies from the EU legislative processes to implementation in the Dutch national regulatory framework.
  • You are the Single Point Of Contact towards ACER & ACM on compliance matters regarding the European network codes and guidelines, whereas you are the liaison with the business units on desired changes to the Dutch grid code.
  • You have a good knowledge on electrical engineering and you know how to translate issues in the field of your expertise into concrete policy proposals (both in English and in Dutch).
  • Furthermore, you cooperate with international experts covering the performance of legal mandates at ENTSO-E bodies, such as Market Committee, System Development Committee, Information & Communication Technologies Committee, Research & Development Committee and other expert and working groups or task forces. This regards in particular topics that have an impact on several Committees or are directly controlled by the ENTSO-E Board.
  • Where useful if new areas need to be integrated into our data sharing and IT tool landscape, you will step in.
  • This will require attention in the future, as our business is growing more complex and knowledge exchange shall be assured.
  • We maintain synergies with TenneT Germany's European regulatory team to give TenneT a combined strong voice in Europe.
  • To stay attached to the ‘working floors', you are willing to take part in an international working environment with the relevant ENTSO-E and Netbeheer Nederland associations’ working groups with regulatory relevance, and coordinate internally European topics covering several business areas. 
  • You are the stakeholder manager for National Grid Ventures, the Regulator and the Ministries with respect to the Regulatory Requirements and Implementation.·
  • You are hired as the Project Lead for the Regulatory Implementation of LionLink. This encompasses both ensuring a supportive regulatory regime and decisions as ensuring that TenneT delivers on the requirements from both the operating, the market and the regulatory perspective.
  • This includes aspects such as: Cost & Revenue Sharing, The Regulatory Decisions needed to enable the Offshore Bidding Zone and the integration of Wind.
  • You align with PL HVDC on the requirements of the Market Design for the system Design of the Converter.
  • You ensure together with NGV that successful concepts are launched to add the cable to the relevant markets. 
  • You coordinate with SON and CMT which requirements are needed and are overall project manager on the TenneT end.

This will be our challenge

The RAN is a real corporate team. Experts from the Netherlands and from Germany work together closely heading for European approaches. All REG-EU activities require active participation in European and national steering and working bodies at ENTSO-E as well as within the German TSO High Level Meeting (HLM) structure, at BDEW, at NRAs, in Ministries and in the working groups of European Commission and ACER.
