As the Sub Project Lead (SPL) for Primary Systems HVDC, you'll play a crucial role in the seamless execution of our project phases, from design to successful handover.
You'll have the responsibility in overseeing various phases of project execution, such as design, testing, installation, and (pre)commissioning. Furthermore, you will the task in leading teams in delivering Front-End Engineering and Design or Detailed Design of Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations is highly desirable. Your role demands strict adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and best practices.
You are able to successfully lead primary systems HVDC projects with your expertise, experience and leadership in EHV substation projects. Your dynamic role requires coordination with directly assigned contractors and internal stakeholders, such as Asset Management and Grid Field Operations.
- You'll spearhead oversight of the HVDC contractor's design, testing, installation, and (pre)commissioning activities, with a particular focus on HV equipment and cutting-edge VSC converter technology.
- You'll navigate through the intricacies of primary design activities for offshore and onshore stations, covering aspects such as station layout, earthing, lightning protection, audible noise, EMC, and more.
- Your tasks extend to witnessing routine tests, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for HV equipment and its associated subsystems, ensuring quality control during the execution phase.
- You'll guide the smooth transition between project phases, from design and manufacturing to factory testing, installation, and (pre)commissioning. As a guardian of safety, health, and environmental (SHE) regulations, you'll closely monitor the HVDC contractor's activities and commitment.
Jouw profiel en achtergrond
As the Sub Project Lead (SPL) for Primary Systems, you have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualifications and have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with high voltage transmission systems, including Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) and Air Insulated Substations (AIS). In addition, familiarity with HVDC converters is advantageous.

- With a 'no-nonsense' mentality and excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proactive and persuasive of nature, coupled with a commitment to taking ownership, makes you an intrinsic part of our high-performing team.
- Have a deep understanding of relevant safety standards, norms, and guidelines governing HV projects' implementation.
- Fluent in both Dutch and English.
- Eager to frequently travel inside and outside Europe, including on-site presence during installation/(pre)commissioning works.
- In possession of a valid driver's license.
- Willing to undergo GWO (Global Wind Organization) and HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) offshore training, demonstrating a commitment to safety and preparedness for the unique challenges of offshore environments.

The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

- Salary for this position is in grade 9, between € 4.369,- and € 8.594,- gross based on a fulltime position
