The current Engineering & Services department in LPO delivers technical expertise and services to the projects and consists of seven teams.
Our Challenge:
Large Projects Offshore is preparing for the split and has to deliver on its promises at the Dutch and German energy transition. This means that the E&S department will be split in a Dutch part and a German part and in the meantime all projects and activities shall be continuing in respect to safety, budget and time, and has to keep cooperating with the other country. It also means that both E&S departments have to continue functioning smoothly in line with the LPO mission.
Your contribution:
The Head of Engineering & Services (E&S) LPO is responsible for the Dutch Engineering & Services department within LPO and will be part of the management team of LPO. LPO stands for the interests of her stakeholders such as reflected in LPO’s goals. This, amongst others, justifies the E&S department maintaining and where necessary setting (technical) cross project standards and developing best practices. The total number of employees (internal and external together) of the E&S department is currently 145 FTE of which 37 FTE are Dutch.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Overal management (leading business, leading people, leading change) of the Dutch 2GW department within LPO, the team and it's performance;
- Designing the E&S department NL in close conjunction with the MT LPO and the projects (purpose, organizational structure, growth path, culture, way of working, interfaces and way of interacting with the projects, added value, KPI’s, ..) so the department adds value to LPO and the projects;
- Setting-up and populating the E&S department based on the design approved by the MT;
- Leading the team of Leads who hierarchically report to the Head;
- E&S shall provide sufficient resources to the projects and LPO as well as expert knowledge and consulting for special tasks;
- Guarding the standards in close cooperation with the 2GW Program Management Office, taking care of lessons learned;
- Supporting the development of technical standards (without jeopardizing the standardization strategy of LPO /2GW), the identification and implementation of innovative technologies, the optimization as well as implementation of processes following the continuous improvement process Lessons Learned;
- Maintaining contacts/good relationships with project overarching internal and external stakeholders;
- Driving organizational change and stimulate behavior, in close cooperation with the MT LPO and the Project Directors but also managers of other departments in the Offshore chain, to make a success of the 2GW Standardization goals and the implementation of new processes like Systems Engineering;
- Member of LPO’s Management Team and in that capacity also responsible for LPO wide management topics;
- Act as a role model and create the right context for employees to show the desired mind-set and behavior in line with TenneT’s Transformation Principles (focus on results and making choices) and Leadership Profile (Connection, Ownership and Courage).
Your profile and background
- Academic working and thinking level and a relevant university degree;
- People manager and a true leader (the leadership is granted and logical);
- You have excellent change management, strategic and communication skills (English and Dutch);
- Successful cooperator internally TenneT, able to reach win-win, keeps colleagues informed and engaged, able to influence, emphatic and able to get results in an harmonious manner;
- You are successfully able to explore and implement new options and solutions with your team and to create an out of the box way of working;
- Preferably experience with sectors like Energy, Offshore, Infrastructure and Technology;
- Broad leadership experience and well developed competencies which embody TenneT's leadership principles Connection, Ownership and Courage;
- You are able to functionally manage, motivate and give direction to a team of professionals, (technical) specialists, engineers and you are a team player (management style is typically coaching);
- Strong and broad technical affinity and able to structure information and processes and able to create overview;

- The weekly working time is 40 hours;
- The position is unlimited;
- Salary for this position is in grade 20, between € 8595,- and € 13.106,- gross per month based on a fulltime agreement (40 hours per week).
- An assessment via GITP is part of the procedure.
