Your profile and background

  • You have an academic degree in economics, engineering or mathematics or a similar qualification.
  • You preferably have in-depth knowledge of the European energy sector, notably the electricity market as well as a network and contacts in the electricity sector.
  • You show initiative and can be assertive.
  • You are able to get things done in a complex environment in collaboration with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • You are fluent in Dutch and proficient in English, both verbally and in writing.

Your contribution to TenneT

What will you do as policy advisor electricity markets?

You actively contribute to an efficient energy transition by developing new concepts and design improvements for the electricity market, in close collaboration with stakeholders. In the market design team you may be working on a range of topics, including improving the functioning of the wholesale market, ensuring security of supply, unlocking flexibility, offshore market design, balancing market, congestion management, sector coupling. In an international working team the responsibilities of a policy advisor include:

  • In close collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders you develop new policies and concepts for your topics.
  • You are a trusted advisor on your topics towards internal and external stakeholders, particularly ministries and regulators.
  • You research and follow developments on your topics, including European and National legislation, and you anticipate and advise on adapting legislations and implementing these within TenneT.
  • You analyze market developments and extract key insights.
  • You represent TenneT externally in project teams and working groups on market design topics.
  • You will work in the market design department which is a team of highly educated and motivated people.

This is what we offer:
  • The weekly working hours are 40.
  • The salary indication for this role is between €4.151,= and €8.197,= gross per month, based on a 40 hours work week, in salary scale 8 of our CAO TSO.
  • 43 vacation days per year.
  • All mentioned benefits apply to a full-time contract unless otherwise stated.
  • A VOG screening is required for this position.
