Your profile and background
At TenneT, we are looking for professionals who contribute to the future of our electricity grid. We expect you to bring the right experience and skills to make a valuable contribution to our team and mission.
What do you bring?
- Education: Minimum MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience, with a portfolio showcasing diverse relevant projects;
- Technical skills: Proficiency in programming languages, especially Python;
- AI and cloud expertise: Experience with one or more of the following: Microsoft Azure AI and GenAI services, Databricks, LLMs, ML/LLMOPS, LLM guardrails, RAG, Graph databases, Document Processing, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Agent Builder / Copilot Studio, User interface development, OpenWebUI, Web applications;
- Collaboration and communication: A proactive, independent thinker who takes ownership and communicates clearly;
- Languages: Fluency in Dutch and English is required; German is a strong plus.
Your contribution to TenneT
How will you help keep the Netherlands powered? As a GenAI Developer, you bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions by designing and developing GenAI use case solutions and reusable building blocks. This ensures we can continue to rely on innovative and secure digital capabilities. Your responsibilities include:
- Analysis and design: Participate in workshops to gather and convert business needs into technical requirements and solution design;
- Solution development: Build, test, deploy and run GenAI applications, including prompt engineering and both low-code and pro-code approaches;
- Stakeholder communication: Present findings and solutions to stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and alignment;
- Knowledge sharing: Build a body of knowledge and actively transfer skills to your team and the wider organization;
- Innovation and development: Stay up to date with the latest trends in GenAI and cloud technology to drive innovation.
You will be part of the GenAI Center of Excellence, within the Digital & Data department of TenneT’s Business Transformation Office. The team is based in Arnhem (NL) and Bayreuth (DE), currently consists of around 6 FTE, and is growing. We work in a hybrid setup, typically 2–3 days per week in the office. Occasional travel to Germany (a few days every few months) is part of the role.

- A permanent contract for 40 hours per week with a two-month probation period
- A salary in scale 9: €4.675 to €9.196 per month (based on 40 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance, 6% year-end bonus, and 70% pension contribution
- 43 vacation days per year (based on full-time employment)
- Hybrid working, including an internet allowance of €32.50 and a home office allowance
