Your profile and background


  • A University degree, preferably in the field of electrical engineering, industrial engineering or physics. Alternatively, you have a comparable qualification.
  • Relevant professional experience in the field of medium and low voltage supply systems.
  • Strong analytical skillsand strategic thinking, you are able to develop and work on complex topics independently.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch are required;
  • A certain willingness to travel and a driving licence round off your profile.

We are searching for a motivated and engaged colleague to support the substations team at Asset Technology in the fields of auxiliary power supply of substations and physical security.


In your role as an asset specialist you' re responsible for the technology of the medium and low voltage AC/DC supply for our substations, including the emergency power generation units and battery systems. Moreover, you're responsible for the technology of physical security measures such as alarm, video surveillance and access systems contributing to a stable and secure operability of the Dutch transmission grid. In order to accelerate the needed grid expansion, you' re driving the standardization and further development of the systems together with internal and external Stakeholders keeping in mind costs, risks, and benefits.


Your responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of technical specifications, technical concepts, guidelines and maintenance strategies;
  • Part of your job is to prepare and support tendering and award procedures;
  • Management and development of our suppliers from a technical point of view. This includes product quality assurance (type tests, FAT, audits, etc.), as well as driving and developing technical innovations in partnership with our suppliers;
  • Technical expertise to support grid operations and projects with complex technical challenges.
  • Represent TenneT's interests in national and international standardisation committees.
