Your contribution to TenneT
Energy System Planning (ESP) is a future-oriented unit, optimized to react to fast-changing external conditions. We develop a robust vision for a climate-neutral energy system of the future and how our onshore/offshore electricity system can adapt to these challenges in the smartest way.
Our high voltage infrastructure can potentially electromagnetically interfere with infrastructures of several groups of external stakeholders owning large and small systems, mostly at power frequency. At ESP we are responsible for the generic policies and standards on how we treat the topic of EMC together with our stakeholders such as ProRail, Gasunie, and other pipeline and cable operators. We develop and apply screening methods and criteria to assess infrastructure projects for potential EMC issues and advise projects during execution on studies and the definition of measures.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Development and expansion of the know-how on relevant topics e.g. of the standards and their interpretation applicable to EMC and Power Quality, such as NEN3654 and RLN00398;
- Monitoring and operationalization of technical and relevant regulatory developments and standards;
- Intensive exchange with relevant stakeholders and the associated organizations;
- Collaboration and steering of engineering companies to perform studies;
- Preparation of policy documents and motivation of decisions;
- Support projects with advices for mitigating actions/project initiation;
- Perform and/or assessment of EMC and EMF studies for high- and extra-high-voltage infrastructure;
- Screen new infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for potential EMC issues and advise on follow-up actions.
